Frequently Asked Questions

The official conference doesn’t start until Monday morning, but keep in mind breakfast and registration is at 7am and you don’t want to miss the Sunday evening cookout at 5pm. We recommend arriving on Sunday, but use your discretion depending on your drive time.

Be sure to stop by registration and pick up your official materials. Bring notepads, ink pens, snacks, chargers, or other personal items you may need throughout the day. We also recommend you bring a sweater or jacket. The temperature of the meeting space can vary.

The Vendor Mall will be open at the back of the meeting space for you to visit. Please visit them – they often have educational materials, resource information, new products, or items for use in your work areas.

The packet that you pick up by registration will include meal tickets for use during the conference.

Breakfast is included on both Monday and Tuesday, and lunch is only included on Monday. Lunch will be served in the dining room, so please be sure to give your meal ticket to the server. Dinner is on your own – we encourage you to invite another attendee to enjoy laughter and shared experiences of the conference.

There will also be a cookout on Sunday consisting of hamburgers, hotdogs, and sides starting around 5 pm.

Sunday evening, starting around 5 pm, there is a cookout of hamburgers, hotdogs, and sides. It is hosted by our Executive Director, Gary Walls and the KPA board. This cookout is a wonderful time to see colleagues and friends we haven’t seen in a while. It is an excellent time to network and update each other with what is currently happening at your facilities. If this is your first KPA Annual Meeting, it is a great opportunity to meet other healthcare professionals who are passionate about Maternal/Child health.

Picnic dress is casual.

After the day’s presentations/Sunday’s cookout, many attendees retire to their room to prepare for the next day, take a walk by the Cumberland River, or enjoy hiking trails around the lodge. Others like to gather on the patio or in the lodge to continue socializing.

Additional information on how to obtain your CE credits will be discussed during the wrap-up at the end of the conference (12:45 pm on Tuesday).
